	Texas Woman's University Denton Campus The College of Nursing's PhD program began in 1971 when the first students were admitted to the Denton campus. It was the first PhD nursing program in Texas and the Southwest. To date, approximately 425 students have graduated from the program and can be found in positions throughout the United States.
